“Not everything that counts
can be counted
and not everything
that can be counted counts”
– Einstein
This year’s conference is jointly held with the Association of Local Public Health Agencies, Ontario Public Health Association and Niagara Region Public Health and is built around the theme of “Making Healthy Communities Count”. This theme reflects the upcoming implementation of the new Ontario Public Health Standards and the ability to plan for, assess, survey and evaluate our healthy communities. The conference program committee has identified five sub-themes as topic areas to be explored by keynote speakers and participants in workshops, poster sessions and presentations. Please refer to the Call for Abstracts for more information.
As host, Niagara region offers an outstanding gathering place for delegates, with numerous recreation and leisure activities to participate in such as walking trails, fresh produce markets, Welland Canal, Niagara Falls, and the Winery Route.
We look forward to welcoming participants to the conference and working together with public health professionals across Ontario in the common cause of strengthening our sector and making healthy communities count.
